School is never out for the sales professional.

I'm sure it's crossed your mind that minimum interest by a professional salesperson can leave customers in a bad way.

Suppose you're in a hospital for a serious operation that could mean life or death. As you are wheeled to the operating room, you hear two attendants chatting about your doctor. One says, "I don't think this doctor has had any surgical training since graduating from med school 30 years ago!" How much confidence would you have in your doctor?

What are the traits of people who show a great deal of interest in their careers? They're enthusiastic. Hard working. Organized. Willing to try something new.

When you meet this person, these traits shine through. You sense an interest which is the basis of getting to the top.

Interested people tend to be successful in the careers of their choice. When you are interested, you're excited about your career. So you continue to learn. You read internet articles and trade journals. You network with the most successful people in your industry.

Walter Chrysler said, "Give me a salesperson who gets excited. When salespeople get excited, they get the customers excited. When customers get excited, they buy!"

Are salespeople enthusiastic because they're successful, or are they successful because they're enthusiastic?

Track Selling defines INTEREST as the decision you make to develop, practice, and apply the information available that will help you become as successful as you're capable of becoming.

Good luck and good selling.
